WARNING: Instagram Rant Up Ahead!

Welp, 3rd time. IG decided to delete my account. Everyone’s first question is why? Welp the answer is: your guess is as good as mine! No notification of a photo taken down. No explanation why my account was terminated other than to say it violated Terms of Service (TOS). So for all I know there’s someone out there claiming to be me and IG is siding with them; as impersonation is a violation of TOS.

Wait, I should contact IG support, NO SUCH FUCKING THING. They make no effort to support the millions of follows that supper them. IG seems to forget its their users that keep them alive; not the other way around. Most infuriating of all is that IG has clearly adopted a policy of favoritism. Allow me to explain. This photo of mine was deleted a few weeks ago, I posted about it previously (side note it has some 35k notes on IG so clearly people connect with it). 

This could be shown on prime time TV as no genitalia or nipples are showing. You can’t see anymore here than you could in most bathing suits. Actually check that. If she were wearing a thong and turned you’d see more. But you could say “well that IGs version of nudity thats there bar and so thats their choice.” Sure I could actually accept that if that were consistent, except: 

Now don’t get me wrong. Im not saying IG should take these down. These shots are both awesome, and we are all adults and should be able to be ok with these. What Im saying is that Instagram favorites the celebrities that bring it buzz and keep them alive while deleting the rest of the IG community for posting anything on par. Now I think highly of myself but I can’t image in lil ol me is getting flagged more that Miley. I mean come on here I bet there are teams of people flagging her all day every day. So why delete my account and not Miley’s? 

All in all what that means is that if you’re not famous you get to fall in line and be subject to their no questions, no explanations, go fuck yourself deletion policy. If you’re a celebrity or a clothing company, or both:

..nipples are Aye OK! (As they should be). 

What I feel like IG is telling their user base is unless you can make IG money, bring them celebrity, or kiss their ass, and you have any interest in pushing the puritanical envelop that IG has social backed stepped into, IG can, and will, delete you. 

Fairness, fuck it. 

Consistency, double fuck that! 

Come what may Instagram, you guys conduct yourself in a shameful manor. Even the most disliked US company AT&T answers their phone. You guys actively deactivated your customer service page and stop responding on your customer service Twitter.

I realize this may fall on deaf ear, and I realize that IG has demonstrated that unless you do something for them they don’t give a fuck about you. But, I would argue that social network thrive soley on their content. If you sterilize the content you neuter the social network. We don’t need another Facebook. 

At least the one thing both Instagram and I can agree upon is that they will clearly keep deleting my accounts, and I will keep making new ones.

It’s rare that I feel like ranting about the state of social media, especially Instagram and their insane nazi view towards nudity, but maybe having too much coffee this morning has compelled me. This photo, which had no more nudity in it than any bathing suit, or Miley’s wrecking ball photos, still on her page, was taken down; and for what reason? Who knows cause Instagram won’t say why. Email them you may say? Nope. They have no contact information anymore. THERE IS NO WAY WHAT SO EVER to reach IG. So how does it work? I suspect that if enough children, believing that all social media should fall to the knees of their shallow view of the world, flag a photo it comes down regardless of having actual nudity or not. What this system really promotes is the most shallow and childish view of the human experience; if those that live on the low bar complain IG has empowered them by lowering the bar to their level. As you can see from the tumblr notes 15k people connected with this photo and it’s sentiment of love for life. Now by now you’re thinking “Derek what’s the point here?” And the point is this. Instagram activity of its earliest users is down. Artists engagement on IG is down. What IG is becoming is our grandma’s mobile version of Facebook; no long the interesting venue for creative minds to meet and collaborate. All in all. That’s a god damn shame. Thankfully there are still some social media out there fighting against the backslide in the views of the human body, its just too bad IG decided to cow tail to the views of children, but only appropriately it will die the death of 150million 13 year old selfies. End of rant.

NEW INSTAGRAM!

Looks like 3rd times a charm. My second Instagram account was deleted yesterday because of a video I posted with less than a second of Julie’s booty.

Here we go again with account 3. All booty shaking videos will be strictly on Vine, but Ill be up to my same tricks and some new experimenting on IG. Come check it out and say hello!

I’d rather have 100 accounts deleted and start 100 new ones than change what I post. There’s a lot to say about being deleted for censorship, but at the end of the day it’s not worth wasting the time. I am who I am. I’m proud of who I am. I am honored by the people in my life and the people that support me though the Internet. I am fortunate enough to have worked with AMAZING talents and I will continue to do so. My IG will forever be the place I document, praise, and share the life I am fortunate enough to have. No amount of flags, hatred or any negative energy will even change a second of my life. So with that said, back to work! Booty worship, gorgeous women, bulldogs and general shenanigans to come! Thank you all for being amazing!!
