I wouldn’t say that I only do. But I shoot what inspires me and 99% of the time that is women. When I just shooting in my everyday life I shoot men and women, but for the nude art stuff Ive only shot women. I have one shot that I like thats a guy in his underwear. One of my early shots with a sprocket rocket.

SHOOT ALL THE TIME. Find what you love to shoot and then keep shooting it. Learning about f stops/aperture is key to start controlling your image in my mind and then start to learn about light. I say “start” to because really you can never learn everything about lighting.

In the days of the internet Id just suggest getting started by reading about “lens length” and “depth of field.” If you go into a store and see a photo book that has images you connect with then get it and read it. Otherwise you will learn most of what you’ll need just by shooting and experimenting.

I use the lomo flash and the canon 580 flash for anything over 6 ft.

Its a combo of keeping them very clean and scanner settings. I scan them into my scanner at 400 dpi at 600x scale. I also sharpen the image to compensate for it being 1 degree from the original.
