do you use flash for any of your work?? I can’t seem to get used to using flash I prefer natural light

I do at times use onboard flashes, but I don’t really use strobes and lighting set ups.

I never really learned strobe lighting. I do often use fixed lighting or practical lighting like lamps, china balls, or whatever is around to light, mainly because the lighting I learned was for filmmaking so its all fixed or practical. However, all that said, I still greatly prefer natural lighting. But you just don’t always have it.

Is there a difference between the types of film you use?

I really only use one type of film which is Kodak Potra 400. Its a great high quality film with vivid colors and nice contrast and overall great tones. I also use it because when I use to shoot Sprocket Rocket a lot, you can see that work HERE, I liked that the negative is very clean and simple.

However recently Ive had to shoot some slide film and cross processes it to get negatives to finish the 365 Project when I was traveling and couldn’t find film to buy.

Back in the day there use to be thousands of film types, different tones, different contrast, different feels. Now a days, there are fewer and fewer. Portra is kind of the gold standard film for Kodak so fingers crossed it re-mains forever.
