Sometimes it takes getting sick to slow down and appreciate the small thing.
Julie and I spent the last week working on an event in Barcelona. Long hours with amazing people we love working with.
At the same time it was our 1 year anniversary and we both picked up the flu and worked a 16 hour day.
We love what we do and didn’t want to let the team down; so we pushed through. Julie’s fever started to climb yesterday evening and I started to worry.
Fortunately we had a medic onsite and they were able to keep an eye on her and her fever.
We spent about the last 14 hours in bed, sweating on each other; sleeping off our collective fevers.
Despite all that, we love what we do because we do it together. I truly get to work side by side with my partner in life, through the good, the tough, the healthy and the sick. All of it is better because we are together through it.
